<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>We compared the global and two regional chlorophyll-a algorithms for SeaWiFS and MODIS-Aqua/Terra instruments in the Black Sea based on in situ measurements of the chlorophyll-a concentration (below Са) in the upper sea layer during 1997—2015. Comparison results for three SeaWiFS, MODIS-Aqua and MODIS-Terra instruments showed: 1) the standard product NASA overestimates Са throughout the range of variability of Са in the Black Sea, the average value of the relative error is about 300 %; 2) the product of the Shirshov’s Institute of Oceanology has the same slope in the logarithm axises {Са(in situ), Са(algorithm)}, like the standard NASA product, but due to the shift, in the Са range from 0.2 to 0.9 mg∙m−3 is better, in terms of relative error (~80 %) corresponds to observations; 3) the product of the Marine Hydrophysical institute gives the smallest relative error (~40 %), but it has a high sensitivity to the quality of the remote spectral reflectance (RRS), that is, to the ratio of RRS in two bands from 480—560 nm.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>концентрация хлорофилла-а</kwd><kwd>Черное море</kwd><kwd>дистанционное зондирование</kwd><kwd>видимый диапазон</kwd><kwd>региональный биооптический алгоритм</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>chlorophyll-a concentration</kwd><kwd>Black Sea</kwd><kwd>remote sensing</kwd><kwd>visible domain</kwd><kwd>regional biooptical algorithm</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group xml:lang="ru"><funding-statement>Работа выполнена в рамках государственных заданий: тема № 0827-2014-0011 «Исследования закономерностей изменений состояния морской среды на основе оперативных наблюдений и данных системы диагноза, прогноза и реанализа состояния морских акваторий» и тема № 0828-2014-0016 «Создание методов и технологий оперативного контроля экологического состояния биоты, оценки и прогноза качества морской среды», а также частично при поддержке РФФИ гранты № 17-05-00113, № 16-05-00076, № 18-45-920070.</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Финенко З.
